A 12-week 1:1 guided immersion for Argentalk listeners and Argentina-lovers who feel like 5-year-olds when they try to join real conversations in Spanish – and want to finally talk about life, culture, films and everyday topics without freezing.

For people who

travel to Argentina, have Argentine people in their life, or feel a strong connection to the country and its culture.

Learn through

Argentine stories, movies, podcast episodes and real-life topics, following a thoughtful process with mateials and activities adapted to your goals.

I work with

a very small number of students at a time so that each process can stay thoughtful and personal. New places open gradually during the year.

Does this sound like you?

Spanish is fine for basics – but it breaks when conversations go deep.

You’re not “just” learning Spanish. Argentina is already part of your life in some way: family, pareja, tango, travels, books, music. You can handle small talk, but when people start talking fast about politics, education, mental health, relationships or that película everyone watched… you shrink.

You understand the general idea, but you can’t enter the conversation with your real thoughts.

You get quiet when topics get fast, messy and very “Argentine”.
You’re tired of switching to English just when it starts to get interesting.
You feel guilty because you’ve been “working on your Spanish” for years and still feel like a child in group conversations.

Deep down you don’t want perfect textbook Spanish. You want to: Express real opinions, not just “sí, qué bueno”. Talk about films, books, trips and feelings with Argentines. Hear “che, tu español está re bien” and actually believe it. Belong in the conversation instead of watching it from the side. If that’s you, the Argentine Spanish Roadmap was built exactly for this gap between “I understand a lot” and “I can actually say what I think”.

FROM LISTENING TO LIVING

What is the Argentine Spanish Roadmap?

The Argentine Spanish Roadmap is a 12-week 1:1 immersion designed for people who already understand a lot (A2–B1 level, sometimes more), already have Argentina in their life, and now want to join deeper conversations in Argentine Spanish – not just survive the basics.

During 12 weeks we:

  • Choose one clear focus for you: your next trip, your family, your tango or polo, your Argentine friends, your own “Argentina project”.
  • Meet once a week on Zoom for a 60-minute 1:1 session built around conversation, culture and real-life topics.
  • Work with content you actually care about: Argentalk episodes, Argentine series and films, articles and stories from your daily life.
  • Turn all your passive listening and “I should be better by now” into active, confident participation.

How Argentalk has impacted Real People

How Argentalk has impacted Real People

Weekly 1:1 Zoom sessions (60 minutes)

One 60-minute session per week focused on real topics: family and relationships, history and places in Argentina, culture, films, series, books, music, education, society, mental health, daily life – whatever matters in your world.

Curated Argentine materials at your level

Selected Argentalk episodes, clips from Argentine films and series, short texts and messages connected to your life. Challenging enough to grow, never humiliating or boring.

Weekly tasks with feedback

Each week: 1 “passive” task (watch / listen and notice) and 1 “active” task (write or record). I correct your Spanish and suggest more natural Argentine ways to say what you really mean – sin matar tu propia voz.

Flexible but contained structure

The Roadmap lasts 12 weeks and 15 weeks if you need a break week. Structure can extend up to enough to move forward, flexible enough to adapt to real life.

A simple 12-week direction

No more jumping between apps, YouTube and grammar books. We follow a clear path connected to the topics you want to talk about and the people you want to connect with.

Light WhatsApp support between sessions

Send a few audios or texts related to your tasks and ask up to 3 short questions per week when something appears in real life. Spanish stays present in your week, not only in our Zoom hour.

after two weeks

How it often feels at the end of the Roadmap

Students who are a good fit for this journey usually describe the “after” like this:

  • “I can sit at the table and actually participate in a 30-minute conversation about politics, films or family, without disappearing.”
  • “I still make mistakes, but I feel like myself in Spanish – adult, calm, present.”
  • “During my trip, I could finally enjoy Argentina instead of spending all my energy worrying about my Spanish.
  • “My Argentine friends and family notice my effort. They include me more and talk to me differently.”
  • “Spanish stopped being an endless ‘project’ and became part of my everyday life.”
Who’s inviting you to the fogón?

Hola, I’m Mariel

Before I was a teacher, I was just like you: someone who fell in love with places and cultures and still felt outside the real conversations.
For the last 12+ years I’ve been teaching Spanish and working as a translator, and for the last few years I’ve been the voice behind
Argentalk – the podcast where many of you first met Argentina through stories, not textbooks.

Argentalk has been alive for 5 years, with more than 60 episodes and students from the US, Germany, the UK, Australia, Romania, Brazil, Poland, Russia, Ireland, Switzerland, Jordan, India and more.

I’ve spent years traveling through South America, Europe and Asia with my backpack, sitting in kitchens, buses, peñas and tiny cafés where life actually happens. I know how it feels to understand a lot… and still stay quiet because you’re afraid of sounding silly or not belonging.

Now I live in the interior of Argentina, between mountains, rivers, mates under the trees and nights of folklore. From here, my work is simple:

  • To help you understand Argentines better
  • To help you feel calm and proud when you speak
  • To turn your love for Argentina into real human connection – in Spanish.

If Argentalk has already been your window into this country, the Roadmap is the moment when you stop watching from the window and sit down at the table with us.

Experience: 12+ years teaching Spanish · 5+ years of Argentalk podcast · students from 10+ countries.

HOW IT WORKS

The path from this page to your first session

1

Secure your spot on the interest list.

At the top of this page, leave your name and email. That tells me: «I’m seriously considering doing this in the next months.»

2

Read a short series of emails

I’ll send you details about the Roadmap, answers to common worries (time, level, money, shame) and stories from other students.

3

Book a 30-minute clarity call.

You’ll get a link to my Tidycal calendar. In the call we talk about your Spanish, your relationship with Argentina and what «success» would look like for you in 12 weeks.

4

Confirm your spot and start your Roadmap.

If we both say «sí», I’ll send you payment links (one payment of 500 USD or 3 × 195 USD). Once the first payment is confirmed, we set your weekly time and your 12-week journey officially begins.

Investment & FAQs

Money, level, schedule – and other practical things

Option 1: One payment of 500 USD for the full 12-week Roadmap.

Option 2: Three monthly payments of 195 USD.

You’re not paying anything on this page. First you join the interest list, then you read the emails and we have a clarity call. Only after that, if it still feels right and the timing works, you confirm your place and make your first payment.

The Roadmap is ideal if you’re around A2–B1. Many people think their level is “too low”, but if you can follow most of an Argentalk episode (with some effort), you’re probably ready. If during our clarity call I feel you’ll be frustrated, I’ll tell you honestly and we won’t work together (yet).

Each session is 60 minutes, once a week, for 12 weeks. If you need a break week, we can extend the process up to 15 weeks in total.

After you join the program, you’ll receive a private Tidycal link. You’ll choose a weekly time that works for you, and we’ll try to keep it stable during the 12 weeks.

If you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. We’ll change the time using Tidycal or by email/WhatsApp. If you don’t show up and don’t tell me 24 hours before, the session is counted as used – but we’ll still talk about your tasks for the next week so you don’t lose momentum.

I usually don’t work with more than 6 Roadmap students at the same time. If the current spots are full, you’ll stay on the interest list. I’ll let you know by email as soon as I open new places and you’ll have the first chance to take them.

I don’t promise perfect grammar, native accent or “fluency” in three months. What I do focus on is: helping you stop feeling like a 5-year-old in adult conversations, building the specific vocabulary and confidence you need for the topics you care about, and creating a space where you feel emotionally supported, not judged.

If you love Argentina and you’re tired of hiding in group conversations, yes – this is probably for you. We go con calma, with a lot of kindness and honesty. No tests, no grades, no humiliation – just real work, week by week, toward the conversations you actually want to have.

Ready to move from “I understand” to “I can actually say what I think”?

If Argentina is already part of your life – in your relationships, your travels, your books, your music – and you’re tired of staying quiet when the conversation goes deep, I’d be happy to walk this 12-week path with you.

Leave your name and email below to secure your spot on the interest list for the next 2 openings of the Argentine Spanish Roadmap.
